The speaker:
Théo Peeters, is founder of the Center for Education in the Field of Autism in Antwerpen, Belgium (1981): Opleidungscentrum
Autisme. Numerous publications, and also conferences and seminars which he has been holding throughout the world for the past
25 years, distinguish him as a specialist on the topic of autism. It is his philosophy to comprehend autism from the inside.
Marc Serruys works in Théo Peeters's center and also works with autistic persons with a young mental age. He has published a book in Dutch about the behaviour problematic, in conjunction with mental disabilities.
Axel Brauns has “Asperger Syndrome“ and has become reknowned primarily through his literary work “Buntschatten und Fledermäuse”
(“Colored shadows and bats”) as well as through numerous television appearances.
Gilles Trehin has “Asperger Syndrome“.
He wrote and illustrated the book, “Urville“.
Ros Blackburn also has “Asperger Syndrome“. She has held many conferences, worldwide, and has also published in the journal, “GAP“ (Good Autism Practice, University of Birmingham).
Hilde de Clercq, linguist, specialist, and mother of an autistic child, works within the framework of Théo Peeters's education center. Her publications have been translated into many languages. Her role as a professional, and simultaneously, as mother of an
autistic child, characterize her statements.
Rita Jordan, (Professor of Autism Studies, School of Education, University of Birmingham) is responsible for a distance learning course on the topic of autism and has published numerous books and articles.
A group of authors from the EU project, EXODUS. These are persons from 5 different countries and 7 different school or non-school institutions who work with austistic persons of all age groups. They will present the module for education and further education - illustrated by a DVD - which was developed by them..
